How to Remove Chlorine from Tap Water

When we grow mushrooms it is important that we use clean water free of chlorine, chlorine is used as a disinfectant that will kill microorganisms. The best method in removing chlorine is by boiling it and allowing the water to cool down. The second method requires us to fill up a pot or kettle with water and leave the lid off for 12 hours, this will provide time for the Volatile Chlorine to evaporate.

Do this when you need to rehydrate, water/mist, humidify, or inject water that will touch mycelium. This is critical when growing certain types of mushrooms as they are weaker at adapting to changes in environmental conditions.
